I am Firefox user. Thus, I am, in a way, compelled to echo to you all this article.

ComputerWorld published an article listing their Top 20 Firefox Extensions. They have also appropriately grouped them into the categories:

Personally, I love using the Gmail Manager and Yahoo! Mail Notifier.

Both extensions check your accounts at Gmail and Yahoo! for new messages.
