Prelude to FajaHood

Something tells me that this week will be the week. I don't know if this is instinct, but, I can already sense that the fruit of my loins is coming. I'm pretty sure that both the little dude and mommy are ready. The question really now is: Am I ready?

In my attempts to set my mind for this new chapter, I have compiled lessons that would help me to be a good faja. And I find these lines giving good impact especially in the long run both for me (and my groins) and my child (I'm still expecting one child, for now) --

Always be ready to listen to your children even if they have nothing to say.

And this line by Red Buttons --

Never raise your hand to your kids. It leaves your groin unprotected.

Do you think these are good enough -- especially for first-timers like me?

Aside from those lines (hopefully) to help me be a neato father -- the most valuable source of lessons would be from my very own father. He really worked hard for his family -- that's one value I've learned from him -- the value of hard work. Not really the sharpest knife in the drawer -- but his goodness and dedication has brought our family to what it is now. I hope to teach this value lesson also to my son.
