The airplane trip back to the Philippines was very turbulent. However, the most turbulent experience was the trip from Cebu to Cagayan de Oro.
I had the tickets ready long before. I prepared my luggage hours long before the time of departure. But, knowing that your trip has been cancelled was something I was not prepared for. To make it even worst, two companies just happened to have cancelled their trips to Cagayn de Oro. I was literally running from one ticketing office to the next. To my relief, there was one vessel -- and it's the only one. Imagining that two companies just cancelled their trip -- thinking that this vessel would be overflowing is a big possibility.
I hurried to buy tickets for the said trip -- but to no avail. It was already past 5pm and tickets are now only sold at the pier. I called a taxi -- that was the easy part -- I didn't even hear the driver asking for an additional fare -- it just didn't matter at that point.
Thinking that it would be a breeze -- hell no! -- I had to go through thick traffic. The 5 minute ride turned into 30 minutes -- I was almost losing hope. I would have to wait another day to see and hold my son for the first time.
