A Series of "My First..." - Chapter III

I don't know where this series is going. For all I know, it's a bit going on the downside -- meaning it's getting boring. For my readers, if you think it is a bit going downhill, let me know, so that I might be able to do something about it.

For my next first experience, it is all about ...

My First Subway Train Ride

At this part of the trip, we were excited, but very very tired. The cool breeze made me feel sleepy, but there is no time to sleep for me because I had to listen and look after our next stop -- Kaneyama station.

At this point of the trip, not only were we tired, sleepy, hungry and anxious to reach our destination -- we were also carrying a total of 90 kilos of luggage.

Being first timers in this city, it's hard to find our way through the complex subway system. Thankfully, a kind Japanese woman was willing to accompany us to the station we were wishing to go. She helped us out from buying the subway tickets down to the number of stations that we should be passing by.

This picture shows the map we are carrying that would supposedly guide us and how our faces looked like at this point in time. Here, we were patiently waiting for the subway train's stop at this station. This station's name is Akaike.

Here is the face I'm showing to everybody around.. not too happy, am I?

After 2 hours of walking around, climbing through stairs, riding in elevators, and "sight-seeing", finally, the eagles have landed -- Josui Station. Not every place in Japan is technologically advanced because this station has no (*insert all sorts of curse here*) elevator... we had to carry every one of our luggage up through these stairs. I did a count of the number of steps and that's almost 50 steps (approx). 50 steps at 3 round trips -- 300 steps (approx.) -- 150 steps (approx.) going up with the heavy luggage. Just take a look at this... and see for yourself.

And since it's picture time, why not take the moment at hand and do a pose? Hehe :) And look carefully, one luggage is already all the way up those stairs.

What happened from Josui Station to CKC (Chubu Kenshu Center) is a different story in itself. Let's end here and check often for the next chapter of this series -- The Hike.
