Security -- Don't Take It For Granted

If I'm an event planner, I would really consider having an online event registration system. But, at first, I won't be looking for a software -- I would be looking for a developer to make it for me. Actually, this has already happened to me -- I was hired to develop the system 6 and a half years ago. The offer was so good -- I just had to take it. Unfortunately, after 2 days, I declined the task and suggested that it would be better to use a ready-made software. There were just too many things to consider like encryption and access control measures -- it wasn't a job for a single man.

I was wondering why he didn't opted for the best software at first -- having the feeling of being totally secured especially when dealing with sensitive information will help one able to sleep soundly at night knowing that the user's information will be safe. I would be able to boast confidently to everyone about the system's security and safety.

Most importantly, today's user are already very well informed especially about online transaction risks. It would be difficult to convey the message of safety if one is not completely assured of the back-end system being used.

Thus, using a software that has reached a rank of Level 1 PCI compliance from Visa and is the only registration company to hold such highest ranking -- any event planner will have the undaunted confidence of the system's security and ultimately -- any event's success.
