The driver was not dead! Thank god! Apparently, he went to the little boys room and took a little longer that expected to come back. He started the shuttle bus and went our way to the vessel. It took around 3-5 minutes to reach our destination.
Right in front of us was the vessel bound for Cagayan de Oro -- only one problem left -- I still don't have my ticket to board. Nearby was the ticketing office -- right in front of it -- a long line of people. It just didn't matter that I had a bag of chocolates weighing at 7 kilos on one hand -- a 12 kilo stroller in another -- and a 10 kilo backpack -- I just went at the tail of the line.
For almost 30 minutes, my hand was so numb I had trouble getting money from my wallet to pay for my ticket. The thought of finally having handed your ticket home and to your son was my adrenalin right at that moment. At long last, with my ticket firmly in my hands -- I boarded the vessel -- forgetting that I still don't have food for my dinner.
At this particular night, I only ate bread and water for dinner. But the days that followed ... I will post in another entry.
