14 yr old's app

kids today, they do all the darnest things. apparently, this includes developing iPhone apps and topping the charts as the most downloaded free app in the App Store as of the moment. as an added bonus, it even topped the Angry Birds app.

as an aspiring iPhone app developer, this tells me that 1) anybody can make it in the iPhone app development business. all one needs is an idea. apparently, simple and fun ideas are the ones that are in today. 2) it doesn't matter if you are going against the big boys of the business. as it seems, everybody is on a level playing field.

even if the kid's app, Bubble Ball, can be downloaded for free, you can't discard the fact that the potential of the app is very bright. a few updates here and there and eventually add some iAds or Google Adsense. this 14 year old might be able to reach his first million before he reaches puberty.

kids today.

iPad 2 and the iOS 4.3

Yesterday, iOS 4.3 has been released. We, if you are one of the awaiting public, couldn't get your hands on it yet because it is still a release for the app developers. There seems to very interesting things in this upcoming iOS version.

First off, 9to5mac scavenged deep within the latest iOS SDK and found camera graphics and shutter images with a larger resolution which seems to fit perfectly with an iPad's resolution. For me, because of this, those iPad rumors get whole lot more credibility.

And in other news, Engadget has found out that there are mysterious iOS device identifiers within the iOS 4.3 code. If we go along the past stories, these identifiers seem to point out new and upcoming generations. In this case, there seems to be two upcoming generations of the iPhone and three of the iPad. Interestingly enough, again if we follow along the pattern that Apple seems to release 2 or 3 generations of its iOS devices annually, these seem like the upcoming generations for the year 2011 alone.

If this was the case, it begs the question for hardcore fanboys, would you get the next iPad? or wait for the next upcoming generations?

Glimpse of the iPhone 5?

This is a Youtube video from smartphone parts firm Global Direct Parts showing what could be the next generation of the iPhone -- presumably iPhone 5. Well, it could very much also be the very much rumored CDMA iPhone 4, or just a plain old fake video.

Whatever it is, it shows that there are minor differences with the current iPhone in terms of it cables and internal parts. Among those is the steel band's change of location. Apparently, maybe it's because of the antenna issue that plagued the iPhone 4 that triggered this change.

Another thing is the SIM-card slot which for CDMA is not necessary. Well, come to think of it, if this is going to be the iPhone 5, it should probably able to work in CDMA and non-CDMA mode. I think it would be stupid not to.

UPDATE: It seems like the video has been pulled out from the tubes due to copyright claims from the big A.

I want an iPHone 4.

Do you really need an iPhone? Can I introduce you to HTC?

So, what do you think now?

Looking for: Antenna Engineers

Do you climb up to the top of your rooftop to adjust the antenna? or just for the heck of it, do you climb up to the top during a thunderstorm, fiddle with the antenna, and maybe get struck by lightning, and acquire lightning powers? Well, if you do, then you might have a shot at getting hired at Apple. (For more info, a post from Engadget is here)

Well? Do you? Do you? Do you? Because, Apple is looking for Antenna engineers. Oh wait, do you think this is somehow related to the iPhone 4's antenna issue? Or the proper way to hold an iPhone 4? No... I think n... (thinking) wait... yep! I think it is. Well, at least, there is a big chance that a relation exists. This has been going on for days since iPhone 4's launched. There were a few lucky subscribers who got a free Bumper as a remedy to this whole misunderstood thing. Talk about timing though.

For the record, i'll exchange my current phone with the iPhone 4 anytime!

iPhone 4 Hands on

The iPhone 4 launched today, as I am sure that everybody already know. When you hear all the hype about the iPhone 4 everyday since it was introduced, you have just got to out and see it for yourself.

And so I did, and guess what, people are still lining up for the amazing and magical iPhone 4. This was taken at almost 7PM, and the line just kept on getting longer and longer.

That line is just for those who pre-ordered, and so everyone else could just go waltz in.

Without wasting any time, I went on ahead inside the Apple Store, and grabbed at the first iPhone 4 I saw, and clicked away.
The camera was amazing, and with the front and back mode, it has become even more superb. Could a tiny flash really give that much light? Only thing I can tell you is, don't look at it directly at 5-10 inches away from your face. All I saw was white for 3 seconds.

I won't do any full review or something like that. Just check out the video below instead.

I bet you can't wait to get your hands on these babies. Soon boys and girls. Soon.

Mac mini - gets a not so mini overhaul

A while ago ... Apple Store Website has posted this:

Well... you know what that means right? It means ... "Somebody Gonna Get A Real Hurt Real Bad" (in Russell Peters accent). Yes... for people like me, its a definite YES.. a real hurt in the pocket.

One of the obvious reasons is the iPhone 4. Of course, not everybody likes it, but for those who does, it may be right there at the very peak of their BUY-OR-DIE list. A friend of mine said... whatever it takes, and no matter what, he will get it.

Also, check this baby out:

All new design. Making it sleek as it has ever been. The aluminum body is just perfect, I love it!

A few improvements on the processor speed, harddisk space, graphics and connectivity (HDMI, Firewire, etc.) - I say its a pretty good buy. In fact, if we can just fold the (LCD, LED, whatever) monitors multiple times into a size no bigger than a credit card, I'll get this one for sure, and make it my desktop and laptop at the same time. Although, you do need an outlet to plug it on. Bummer!

For more info on the all new Mac Mini, Apple Website has plenty.

(WT! I can't access the Apple Store website.. really?!)

Oh.. that's because they are updating the store again. What will they show us now?

"Applegirl" gets record deal using iPhone and Youtube

I know you've seen this girl already. You know that 22-year old Korean chick who dazzled the hunks with her looks and singing. She also stupefied the nerds and geeks with her four iPhones and GarageBand like apps. (whether her iPhone is jailbroken or not, I have no idea.)

You remember now huh? Well, just to refresh your memory, here is her video again.

Did you see the beautiful pussy on the first few seconds of the video? Beautiful cat. Ummm.. anyway....

A report from the Wall Street Journal says she signed a record deal with a producer from Seoul. Here is the link.

This has happened before, and I think its picking up lately. Producers turning their heads to the untapped talent on the vastness of the internet.

Maybe, I ought to try this at some point in time, maybe I can also make those producers' heads drift.

Apple WWDC 2010 Keynote

Being currently at the other side where WWDC was held, I tried to stay awake for the infamous keynote that Steve himself gave. Well, I tried, but to no avail. My eyes failed me, and shut me out (I think I can say, "literally" here).

For those of you who haven't seen the WWDC keynote live, Apple has posted the Keynote address video. Out of the many things that were talked about in this almost 2 hour keynote were:

1. the new iPhone 4 - Features, Availability and Pricing
All I can say is "WOW!". You have to see for yourself.

2. iBooks Updates.
iBooks will be available in the iPhone. And, it will have ability to read PDF files. Hmmm... which will probably render the applications that I bought that does this - useless. Wait... does this also mean that they will be removed from the App Store?

3. Facetime
iPhone4 features Video calling dubbed as Facetime. For now, it enables iPhone 4 to iPhone 4 video calling through Wifi only - 3G might be supported soon. As long as you are connected through a wifi network, one will be able to use Facetime. No setup required. It is actually pretty cool. I could certainly use this one.

4. iMovie for the iPhone
This is just great - Video editing right at your finger tips, anytime, and anywhere. And for a reasonable price as well - $4.99. I bet it will bring waves of changes especially to video bloggers.

Those are just some of the highlights on that keynote. WWDC is still going on. I, for one, is just waiting for the updates to pour in.

One last thing: According to ceoSteveJobs at Twitter. The video was taken using the iPhone 4. cool huh?
