14 yr old's app

kids today, they do all the darnest things. apparently, this includes developing iPhone apps and topping the charts as the most downloaded free app in the App Store as of the moment. as an added bonus, it even topped the Angry Birds app.

as an aspiring iPhone app developer, this tells me that 1) anybody can make it in the iPhone app development business. all one needs is an idea. apparently, simple and fun ideas are the ones that are in today. 2) it doesn't matter if you are going against the big boys of the business. as it seems, everybody is on a level playing field.

even if the kid's app, Bubble Ball, can be downloaded for free, you can't discard the fact that the potential of the app is very bright. a few updates here and there and eventually add some iAds or Google Adsense. this 14 year old might be able to reach his first million before he reaches puberty.

kids today.

PS3 3.55 Jailbreak just released

Around 2 days ago, I blogged about the custom firmware creator for PS3. Now, hacker Geohot has just released a jailbreak for the 3.55. Talk about fast.

Go on to Geohot's website for the link and to find more about the jailbreak. Again, for all ye pirates -- Geohot says don't waste yer time.

Here are the basic steps on how to install the jailbreak:
1. Download the jailbreak from Geohot's website.
2. Extract and copy the update file to /PS3/UPDATE in your USB Flash Disk.
3. Connect the USB Flash Disk to your PS3.
4. Update your PS3 through Settings -> System Update

Enjoy, you little jailbreaker you!

Let the awesomeness of PS3 Hacking Begin

PS3 Custom Firmware Creator Released!

Well, it looks like 2011 is having a great start, especially for the jailbreaking community. Only

this time, Apple is not the only victim. Like the PSP, one can now create and install custom

PS3 firmwares. As for this particular CFW, it will "Permanently Add “Install PKGs” to the XMB". Little

note here for you pirates, this CFW does not condone piracy, and thus, it would apparently only install

PKGs that are straight homebrew.

It seems that the Playstation 3 which is hailed as the most difficult to hack of all the consoles

has been -- well -- hacked. And to make matters even worst, it seems that releasing a new hardware

is the only remedy -- according to this article about the secret Sony Playstation keys.

If you are Sony, how would you react to this? Would you go on and fire all the people responsible?

Or would they rather just keep their cool and let this be a lesson learned?

White PS3 Slim is coming

If you are waiting for the white iPhone 4, they say it is coming soon. But, if you are waiting for the white PS3, here it is.

[Playstation Japan]

For those of you in Japan (lucky bastards), grab this baby on July 29 at a similar price with its black brother - ¥29,980. As of the moment, you can get the 160Gb model. I do think that a bigger capacity model will come soon. If you are patient, it might be good to hold on to those mollah until it comes out. If we refer to its black brother, maybe a 250Gb, or even a 320Gb model will be coming soon.

II na, kore.

A 30 minute demo of Playstation Move

And now, off to the gamers world.

A couple of months ago, Sony Playstation unveiled the Playstation Move. We heard little news of it since then. And now as it nears its release schedule, which will be around November 2010, a couple of German guys got a hold of not one but two Playstation Move controllers. And now, to make this video worth watching for, they also got hold of a sports software to try the new peripheral on.

The video shows different types of games, like Beach Volleyball, a game of Gladiators, Table tennis, etc. I personally love the Archery game. There is also a hair-cutting game. Perfect for our brothers and sisters who are working in the hair-carving-grazing-nipping-slashing-trimming business, I think. This is really something to look forward to.

Enough words and blabber. Watch the video now.

Do you have something to share?

The mix of two distinct worlds of gaming and music really stirred my interests. I play the guitar and sometimes jam with the band in gigs. The moment I heard about Guitar Hero -- I just said to myself -- I had to get that game pronto! Long story short and a $150 poorer, I finally got to hold the GH guitar for the first time and rock myself into oblivion.

Are you the type who loves to share stuff -- Places where you spent your vacation -- Gadgets that you recently bought? Then, you just have to visit acobay.

There are a lot of stuff categorized appropriately you can share and talk about. For example, if you drive a pimped Pontiac G6, you can add that car and tell the whole world about it. For instance you tell them, how you drove all over downtown and got everybody's head turning. More importantly, you can give reviews and personal opinions about the car. Come to think of it, you are indirectly giving others who are interested with a Pontiac G6 an assessment which could help them in their decisions.

Give it a try! And give others your comments and reviews about your new gadget, car, game, your recent vacation destination, etc.

Playstation Home is out!

December 11th of this year marked the day that Sony launched Playstation Home for the Playstation 3. What is it? In a nutshell, it's virtual world. In this world, you make a digital near-exact replica of yourself and interact with other D-zitens. Much like the current popular platforms like chat, you can pretty much do those stuff here as well. And since the PS3 is a game console, it is a given that you can play games too inside the virtual world.

I'm just wondering if all this virtuosity is really that appealing to hardcore gamers. Or is it an attempt in Sony's part to bring over the other family members to play with their PS3 as well? We will soon find out, we are just 3 days from the launching date. There are still plenty of stuff to observe and try around PS Home.

Looking for a Playstation 3?

I remembered when I was on the market for a Playstation 3... it was this year, at around June. I was searching all over -- all around the city, even on the outskirts looking for a bargain price.

And then after a month or so, I finally stumbled on a 1 day sale of a black 40 Gb Playstation 3. Unfortunately for me, I found out about it at around 7 o'clock in the evening, which was a real bummer, you know how it is when the Playstation 3 and drop down prices. Nevertheless, hopeful, I still went and checked.

This is what happened -- they were willing to give me one, but it will be delivered in 1 week. No biggy -- I can handle playing a week of the waiting game. But, I need to have a coupon in order to avail of the sale. Coupon? what coupon? In order to get the coupon, I need to have a cellphone. As ludicrous as this would sound for a gadget boy like me, I still don't have a cellphone back then. Lucky for me, the clerk was willing to help me out on this one, and used his cellphone instead. Unluckily for me, they couldn't give me anymore coupon because there weren't any anymore.

Now -- if you are looking for one, I suggest you visit ShopWiki as a first step. It will help you in your search and not end up like me who only had a PS3after 3 months of searching.

And oh yeah -- after I bought my PS3 -- a week later -- Sony announced that a new PSU will be released with 80Gb of HDD and bundled Little Big Planet game. Stuff like this just happens -- I got over it once I played over a few Playstation 3 games on my PS3.
